Welcome to the website of Ferry Amateur Swimming Team, otherwise known as FAST
FAST was formed in 1995 by Matt Nelson and is based at Queensferry High Recreation Centre where training takes place twice a week on Sundays and Mondays for a number of squads of different standards and experience.
FAST is a ‘non-competitive’, friendly swimming club and provides an excellent opportunity for young swimmers in the local catchments of Queensferry, Dalmeny and Kirkliston to develop and improve their swimming technique and stamina whilst also having fun . We currently have around 30 members.
We also participate in occasional friendly and novice swimming galas as well as holding our own annual club championships. At the end of each term, we hold ‘time trials’ in order to monitor the progress and improvements of all our swimmers. Each term we nominate swimmers for ‘Best Boy’ and ‘Best Girl’ awards as recognition of their achievements.
FAST is run by a dedicated team of volunteers including trained coaches (UKCC qualified), poolside helpers and committee members.
FAST welcomes new swimmers aged 7 to school leaver. New members must be able to swim lengths in at least three different swimming strokes.
FAST is a registered club with SASA and East District Scottish Swimming Association.
